Ice skating in Vienna 2013
There are many ice skating places, both indoor and outdoor, in Vienna with different offers and highlights. You can find a diversifying selection of winter sport activies within the city limits. So, go outside and enjoy the rest of this year’s winter time!
Wilhelminenberg on Ice:
Ice Skating over the roofs of Vienna, an amazing view included. The ice skating place is 200m² big and also curling is offered. You can rent skates there too and it’s open until January 20.
Wiener Eislaufverein (EWV):
The Viennese Ice Skating Association is centrally located, close to Stadtpark. The icy surface is 6000m² big where you can go ice skating, curling and playing hockey. The EWV offers also courses for kids and ice dance. The association manages special evenings too, like partner or senior evenings. Open until March 3.
Vienna City Hall – Ice Dream:
Pure fun on ice – from January 25 until March 10. Ice skating and curling in front of Vienna’s city hall is a unique experience. In the special ambience will be also Glühwein sold, so that visitors can warm up. You can rent skates there, in case you don’t have any. The Ice Dream offers a 7000m² big ice surface and a 600m long path throught the city hall park.
Artificial ice rink Engelmann:
This ice skating place is located in the 17th district on a rooftop. They offer ice skate and ice dance courses, also for children and an ice dicso. Furthermore you can rent the equipment there. Open until March 10.
Ice Rink Stadthalle:
This ice rink is open until March 10 and is 1600m² big. The Stadthalle offers special activities like the ‚Breakfast ice skating‘, ‚Ice Parties‘ with music, ice hockey and ice dancing.
An outdoor and indoor ice skating place at the same time, where many ice figure skaters are exercising. Highlights are also the ‚breakfast ice skating‘ and ice discos take place. Until March 10.
Austria’s biggest ice sport centre is open until March 30 is located in the 22nd district. They offer courses for kids and adults, discos and parties. You can play there also ice hockey and rent all the equipment on the spot.
If it’s cold enough outside you can also go to the Old Danube. But be careful ;)
